Lara Loving

A recent article in Australian gossip mag WHO took us inside the stunning new apartment of Australian model Lara Bingle. The one bedroom apartment, in the exclusive Sydney suburb of Darling Point is a beautiful reflection of Lara’s personality.

The sweeping views of Sydney harbor are certainly the highlight of Lara’s modest apartment. Styled by Jason Sullivan, winner of HomeMade 2009 and mentor of The Block, the interior beautifully compliments those breathtaking views.

The white washed apartment houses a beautiful entertainment unit designed by Sullivan that displays many of fashion design books and trinkets. The apartment if full of books, skulls, scented candles and polaroid’s of Lara and her friends. Change Lara for Maddie and that sentence would actually describe my apartment! The only thing is though, I don’t own an Alun Rhys Jones painting… Lara does. The huge work of art dominates one of the lounge room walls and is a perfect representation of Lara’s style, minimalist, striking and a vaguely masculine.

All I can say is that Lara has one damn cool apartment that any 24 year old would love to call home! Check out some more pics from her apartment below and try not to get to jealous when you spot all the those Louboutin's in her wardrobe!

14 Howard St NORTH MELBOURNE

Check out this stunning conversion in North Melbourne. Its so nice to see a conversion that keeps some of the original features of the building, such as the exquisite original fire places or the beautiful lead light window above the stair case in this apartment. I also adore the dark timber flooring and those tall ceilings! Its quite a small place but it defiantly has lot of character for a one bed room apartment! It also has access to a roof top terrace which is pretty rare in Melbourne!

Therese Sennerholt

You're probably familiar with Therese Sennerholt, Therese is an art director based out of Stockholm and her graphic prints have gone viral. While her uplifting and inspiring quotes are definitely not my style, her black and white art works are beautiful example of typographic art. Check out some of the images from her website, i guarantee you'll recognise a few! If you'd like to buy any of her prints for your self you can find her webshop here.

This week I am being inspired by simple monochromatic decor with natural accents, such as wood, plants and flowers. I am especially loving the breakfast table with the singlet 'art' very rock n roll.

New Coffee Table!

Check out the beautiful coffee table me and my dad made. I’ll try and upload a ‘How To’ when I have the time but it is basically an old pallet cut down to size, we used new timber planks for the top of the table and then we got creative with the stain to give it that old worn look! Dad was pretty sceptical of using a pallet for a coffee table but when I showed him my 30,000 ‘pins’ of repurposed pallets he warmed to the idea.
Apologies for the awful quality of the photo, I just snapped a quick one with my phone this morning!

Beach scene

Such a tranquill setting... would love to just sit here and listen to the ocean. This a shot from a beautifuly renovated beach house by design team Otto Baat Design.

Australian designer Mark Tuckey's wooden furniture natural untreated wood and chunky style make for the perfect compliment to any beach house.

Imagine waking up to this view? Clear blue ocean as far as the eye can see, this Chilean house is the perfect escape from the real world back into nature.

Designer Candles

When I told my Dad I'd bought a $100 candle for a family friends wedding he asked if it was 6 feet tall and as wide as he was. Designer candles are something you either get or you don't get, the pleasure that burning expensive candles gives you is similar to drinking Moet I suppose. Its a little bit of luxury that you can affoard. My couch might be from Ikea and my curtains might be spotlight but goddamn it my house smells great!
